STI SP-001 Inspections

This inspection is not a State or Federal mandated inspection.  It is a tank inspection standard developed by the Steel Tank Institute (STI) and requires someone holding the STI SP-001 certification.  Even though the tank size and type are similar to the IAM requirements, these inspections are much more involved than a PADEP IAM inspection.  One thing to keep in mind is that having a SP-001 inspection performed on your tank will not satisfy PADEP IAM inspection requirement.  You will mainly see the need for an SP-001 inspection when it is specifically required by your Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures plan (SPCC) or if you have doubts about the integrity of your tank.

Even though the State will typically send you reminder, the regulations say that it is your responsibility to have the inspections performed in a timely manner.  Once you become a customer and we have completed the first inspection for you, our automated system will contact you at least one month before you next inspection is due and set up a date.  Please email the completed form to our team of compliance specialists.

Please use the forms below to get set up to have us perform your next tank inspection.  Please note that each form includes an overview of the inspection process along with a list of possible documentation that you may need to have on hand for the inspector.
